Jason has provided us a list of things to talk about...

Some of the things we have discussed are:

1. Develop a forum for youth to ask the hard and tough questions or questions they cannot ask elsewhere with out fear of retribution.

2. Statement made by someone..."What God sees in imperfection."

3. Group leaders buy-in. Getting them excited about what we are doing. Talk this thing up!

4. Main thought: Creating a conference for developing leadership qualities in youth.

5. Determining who is the driving the force of what we are doing. (leaders???)

6. If we are trying to create a different kind of AYC then we are really wasting our time. WE all agreed that what we want is something that is not being done anywhere in the country. A conference that deals in real time and real world scenarios that our youth are facing. Youth are bored with church as usual. They need something that will take them beyond where they are. We are losing them by age 18. We are not doing a good job of competing with what the world is offering.

7. We spoke of the healing process after mistakes. What led us to those mistakes. What led us out of those mistakes. We can't go back!

8. we will not be mean spirited to any organization however, we will discuss the errors and mistakes of those organizations to keep from making the same mistakes.

9. A question that was presented: Are we sure that we are ready to move forward with out fear from any one organization or group? It may create isolation at some point.

10. We discussed having others invited. However, it was felt that the retreat and what we are doing is not about inclusion. If someone needs help due to exclusion, we will minister to them. However, this ideal we have is not for that purpose.

So, pick a number, or two, or all of them and leave your comments.

Thanks,

Jason Mitchem

ideas...

OK! We're going to try this BLOG idea and see what kind of communication we can create. The idea of this BLOG is to allow us to brainstorm and put into writing some ideas that we have on how to make this dream become a reality.

Post your ideas! Post your thoughts about someone else's idea! Post your thoughts about your momma's idea...just POST SOMETHING to help generate synergy so that a good idea develops into a GREAT idea!

If you have any questions regarding the BLOG process, feel free to contact me and I'll try to help you get started.

May the brainstorming begin....
